OK, in my house October means horror movies all month! Anyone else get in the "spirit" by watching spooky flicks? What are your favorite Halloween movies? Night of the Living Dead has been a Halloween night tradition in my family since I was little and watched it while sorting my candy.

I was scared to death when I first saw Poltergeist...the thing that is so scary is that is doesn't take place in some old gothic mansion, but in a modern suburban house. So it felt like something like that could happen anywhere.
Here are a few that are bound to give you the creeps for the month of October:
Night of The Living Dead
Poltergeist
Rawhead Rex
The Exorcist
The Hidden
The Prince Of Darkness
Phantasm
Legend Of Sleepy Hallow (animated version)
Nightmare On Elm Street
Aliens
Thirteen Ghosts
Hellraiser
Shaun Of The Dead
Grindhouse
For tradition: Lady in White (when they were little, my kids and I always rented this, it's a fun ghost story/mystery and is scary without being terrifying)
For tradition AND scariness: The Changeling Based on a true story that happened in Denver

Me, me, me!
I love October, the chill in the air, the pumkins... and all the horror movies! Evil Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Phantasm, Alien - I can go on forever. The is my favorite time of the year.
I think this year I'm going to do J-Horror movies. their American counterparts suck compare to the originals (I still get creeped out by Ringu and I've seen it dozens of times already!).
other standbys:
Nightmare Before Christmas (I have "This Is Halloween" as my ringtone this month )
The Shining (may try to watch the SK version as well, but I love Jack Nicholson in this movie!)
I noticed The Blair Witch Project is upcoming on a bunch of cable channels. That movie never ceases to scare the crap out of me!
Halloween, definitely. Halloween III if I want a good laugh along with being skeered.
I seriously can never watch Blair Witch Project again.. first time I saw it was alone at 3 AM in my little house in the woods! I must have been nuts! I couldn't go outside after dark for days
Phantasm-outerspace orbs coupled, with graveyards and a body snatching tall man who's only words are, BOY! Woo hooh!
Oh I love that movie!!
