Well, assuming they were the age they were when we remember them, any of the manly heroic actors with emphasis on manly will do. I can't believe the prep school/sensitive types they try to pass off as heroes, these days.

Ronald Coleman, he and Greer Garson were perfectly suited to each other in Random Harvest.

I'd have to go with Gregory Peck, young Marlon Brando, Lee Marvin, and Charles Bronson.

Wow, put those two side by side? The legendary feud between them. I remember an appearance by Bette on the Johnny Carson show, late in her life when she wore those bright red suits with matching hat. Carson made some crack about Joan Crawford (who was deceased). Bette corrected him:

"Now Johnny.... You should only speak good of the dead..... Joan Crawford, she's dead....... GOOD!"

They were before my time but I watched all those old movies w/my Mom and have great memories, I can remember how wild Bette Davis would dress on the later talk shows, what an interesting character!. I can't think of any so-called stars today I would even care to meet, they are so bland and untalented.
