This was the first good thing I seen about it, but I have not seen that much about it overall. I guess I can give it a shot when it hits netflix streaming.
Too many people gave it bad reviews. It was a WAR movie. I thank God he did it the way he did. It felt like I was on a battlefield throughout the entire film. Though, next film should be Delta Force and not the Marines
It would have been MUCH better in my opinion if they had some type of character development.
That is true. But how would it have been done? On just the main character or on all of them? I kind of felt that the film's center was the captain/whatever. They should have developed his character more and such. Would have made the film better than it was. But for a war movie it was pretty good. It did manage to make me feel in a battlefield, but I never cared for the characters because I went in wanting to see action. I don't really care for character development in action flicks. Is that bad
It was indeed a war movie. There was good suspense esp ttoward the end. Although at times it felt like a recruitment ad for the marines. There was no charachter develpoment helping you feel for the actors. Also the plot holes: the alien command center was laughably underdefended. I also was surprised an advanced alien race used ballistic weapons and clunky tech. The fliying crafts looked like they raided home depot and built them with duct tape.
Imo, it wasn't even a good war/shoot-em-up movie. Too many cliches, too scripted, too many plot holes, and all of the astrophysicists on the TV made me angry with their misuse of the word "meteor."
