Crazy ain't it.....The 400 is PLENTY fast and that rascal will get you better than 60 mpg all day long at 65 mph.

Honda,Yamaha and Suzuki do not seem to be pushing these things very well tho' and for the life of me I can't understand that.....They sell like hotcakes around here, but the stinking dealers only end up with a few per year and no advertising or knowlege of them by the sales staff(totally ignorant of the maxi scooters if you ask them anything about them at all)...this could be THE big boost they need right now,but instead they push the crotch rockets and forget that a whole other market exists that is relatively untapped....I don't get it,but then I'm not a multi million dollar a year motorcycle marketing man either

I think I'll take one of these scooters for a test ride after the ice goes out.

We checked one out...or tried to...at a semi local dealer...Could not get time of day cause all the sales guys were crowding around some blond lil thing in a tight t-shirt and big **ts...I told the g/f they must like the huge ones instead of the really nice ones and we left...There loss...A little help and I might have gone back to buy this year...Now I tell everyone who mentions the place to Stay Away due to crappy service...Word of mouth can be a ***** ya know...

With gas down now maybe we get a better selection when we look again in a month or so...

I have, and I thought I was riding Moby Dick up onto the beach. While there are many motorcycles that outweigh the Burgman, none are so clumsy.

Having read through the bulk of this thread, it is obvious to me that there aren't too many contributors who really thought about what the OP was asking for. She's a 58 year old woman for heaven's sake, and I don't recollect anyone addressing the weight of something like a Burgman, or the seat height either.

Hey, if she's 5' 11" and weighs 275, then she just might be into something this heavy and unmanageable, but if she's 5' 2" and weighs 105, she needs a Honda Rebel.

Whatever you buy, make sure you get at least 250CC. Just remember that If you buy something with the Piaggio name on it, you'll be paying quite a premium for that many CCs.

Obviously you are speaking about yourself.
In what world is the Rebel and "automatic" motorcycle?

What?

5'4 110 lbs. I do just fine on a Silverwing, which is only about 50 lbs lighter than a Burgman.

No offense, but if you can't handle a Burgman, you probably shouldn't be riding at all for safety reasons. They are as easy as it gets in the two wheeled world and as was stated above,a Rebel is NOT an auto
