The definition of loud is where the problem lies. Bikes need to be heard over cars to help make up for their lack of comparative visibility. Bikes should be loud enough to accomplish this but not so loud that the noise is offensive . I believe far too many bikers think anything goes and that they can be as loud as possible which is not necessary. Let them be loud but have very strict enforcement of levels to keep the trouble makers in check.
Well I haven't seen this thread for 24 hours, but from what I gather it basically has gone like this:
-Garage Logic calls everyone names.
-Other people try to point out to him the flaw in his thinking.
-He calls everyone who's trying to explain this to him names while failing to see any of the logic. (Ironic I think.)
-Multiple other people point out to him calmly why his thinking is flawed, that they do not want to legislate over other people, but that it will happen if guys continue riding around with straight pipes, all riders will see the bad end of it.
-He dances around flinging crap at all of them like he's won the argument.
?
My statement was just from my own personal experience of being immersed in motorcycle culture for 15 years.
my 40+ years of road riding says that loud pipes serve only to pizz off the public.
anyone genuinely concerned about being noticed does it with LIGHT's
