I would say the only thing you have to worry about is being from California. I don't think you'll encounter any problems from Montanans with an interracial marriage. I grew up in Idaho and have lived in Montana for more than 10 years. Helena is a really nice area. Montanans generally don't appreciate people from CA moving to the state. Of course this is a general statement and you won't find this to be an across the board sentiment. I won't go into the details of why, but trust me, if you move here you'll want to get your license plates changed ASAP to not show CA. Also when people ask where you're from be SURE to mention Missouri and Pennsylvania.

I am soon to be another re-locator from the Southern Calif area. A cop of 25 years I have been overly anxious to rip out my roots here and replant them in an area much described in the above comments. Very disappointing what's been happening to Calif thru the years. The worse is yet to come as they scramble on how to bring in more money to again spend uncontrolably and irresponsibly. I like to work with the people and for people, but here you have to be careful with that. Lawsuits reign supreme and out of control. I'm conservative and very protective towards our national heritage way of life.
