Buck's Pizza posted in their Facebook page that their last day open will be April 27th and that a new restaurant will be taking it's place...anyone have any idea on what it will be?

It will be a loss for Downtown Mobile but at least Pizzeria Delphina is still down the street....

Panini Pete's on Dauphin said their last day is Saturday, April 19th. The owners are going to be opening a new seafood place at the location.

I feel like there are a ton of those places. Anyways, at least it won't be a vacant building.

Ugh, we have a plethora.Even the non seafood spots have some type of Creole / Cajun inspired seafood entree. This is a Gulf Coast city so that is to be expected. Buck's was me and my wife's spot man. We're going to miss them.Well atleast there will not be any vacancies. And I will miss the beignets at Panini Pete's Hopefully they are still served at the new restaurant concept.

...and one of the commenters on Buck's closing said the replacement was some kind of oyster place. Once again, adding to the plethora of seafood restaurants here.

I wish Downtown would add some more "fast casual" joints. My last visit downtown on the Saturday before Mardi Gras, we tried to grab a meal about 4pm, and the wait times were ridiculous on many of Dauphin Street's establishments. It seems these places could help with getting people in and out better, and give the option of take-out even if the seating was at capacity.

Also, downtown is getting a little too "culinary" for me.....too many places trying to win a James Beard award instead of catering to the average person who wants a decent meal at a reasonable price....but that's just my opinion.

Me too! That’s why am so disappointed in Panini Pete’s and Bucks closing. Hopefully someone will open something similar to take their place.

I've heard Mellow Mushroom is looking downtown.

I think only handful total would even care to win a Beard award... and there are several dozen restaurants downtown.

You still have Blind Mule, Bob's, Cotton State, Heroes, Rooster's, 219, Mama's, Moe's, OK Bicycle Shop, TP Crockmiers, etc...

Someone told me Panini Pete is looking to move to another spot downtown and open a gastro pub in that spot.
