Anyone know when the crown will be added to the Van? I was downtown just a few days ago, and they finally removed the fencing on the royal street side and they had someone power washing and buffering the sidewalk.

The Diggs restaurant is going to be a Japanese gastropub. For those that don't know a gastropub is a pub that serves high-end food instead of bar food. Sounds interesting

Also in Fairhope in a couple weeks the Bone & Barrel is opening at 311 Fairhope Avenue in the old The Pub building. Owners are really experienced in the industry so it's gonna be done right. One of the owners described it to me as a steak & whiskey pub, hence the name.

I believe this is referring to the 'cornice' at the top edge of the hotel. Many if not most vintage buildings had cornices.

(the framing for it can be seen in the image in this thread)

Preguntas is right , when the Van was original built it had a cornice and some how over time it was removed now it's being restored back to the original.
