Don't know. Only way to find out if he's up to the task is to give him a shot.

Berrios' best game in a while. Good. Maybe coming back into form?

Buxton is done for season.

The way Cave caught that ball last week...maybe it's soon time to send Bucks out for pitching? I have an inkling that he eventually wants out of MN anyways...so why not strike while the iron is hot (when he comes back and gets back into form)? I know he's a game-changer, but we can't afford to have a game changer who is not often in lineup.

Just another reason to hate the Yankees. Homer-friendly Yankee Stadium, of course.

Twins are limping towards the end of the regular season. How many more injuries (and suspensions) can they handle and still make the playoffs? Our starting pitching staff is in shambles and we're basically sending out our JV team now to try and score enough runs to make up for all the runs we're giving up.

I'm not worried about winning the division, I'm worried about making the playoffs now. It's sad to watch them right now after such a wonderful season.

Do we even have a player from our opening day starters that hasn't been on IR? It makes what Cal Ripken JR accomplished even more remarkable.

It would help if Baldelli would stop playing people out of position.......i.e. Rosario butchering that fly ball in right vs. the Nats the other night that lead to a crucial run. Twins are horrible defensively and can't afford to be any worse when they're playing out of position.

We're seeing how they would fare if they did make the World Series. The Mets, Nats and Braves have all come in here and pushed them around.

jmgg is correct.....right now I'm wondering if they can even hang on and make the playoffs. They may have peaked too soon and the injuries have been disastrous.

That's the most concerning thing - how they have gotten beat pretty handily by some of these playoff-bound clubs.

I said it before I'll say it again: this wasn't the year I felt like we had a shot at it all anyways, next season is the season I hope we make legit run at title (after adding an ace ortwo?)

In a non-analytical 2019 baseball world they'd be grooming Graterol to be the closer. He's got all the tools except that 3rd pitch, which will come as the Twins develop him. An explosive arm like that is made for closing games. You make him a starter throwing that hard consistently and his arm gets much more wear and tear. A pen with Duffey, May, Romo, Rogers and Graterol closing sounds pretty formidable if they can properly develop that guy. Problem is the starting rotation is looking pretty shabby at the moment with the Pineda suspension, Berrios struggling (yea, he had a good game the other day but it was only one game) and Gibson being Gibson. Not trading for that extra starter at the deadline has really come back to bite them.
