#1 - Momentum will be on Minnesota's side heading into next week's 4-game series in Detroit. Twins have won 10 of 11 while the Tigers have lost 9 of their past 16 games. Detroit will also likely be looking past their 3-game set in Chicago this weekend and drop a game or two to the White Sox. Detroit has no off-day and needs to travel nearly 1/8 of the way across country (and to a different time-zone) from Cleveland to Chicago and face a rested, desperate and resurgent White Sox team that almost beat the Twins in 2 out of the 3 games just played between the two teams. Meanwhile the Twins should have an easy time in Kansas City facing star pitcher Zack Greinke who has yet to beat the Twins this year.

Reasons why Detroit will hold off Minnesota for the AL Central - the Tigers have a 3 game lead with a little more than a week to play and play the last week of the season at home.

It'll be fun to watch, but I kinda think the Twins will sneak up and take the division.

Whoever wins, will be the worst, least talented team to make the playoffs in MLB history. Especially if its the Twinkies.

Negative Whitey, that would be the 85 -77, 1987 World Series Champion Minnesota Twins.

Not so fast. How about the 82-79 New York Mets in 1973?

True enough Charley, and the 06 Cards were just slightly better at 83 - 78. Just goes to show that anything can happen once you get into the playoffs.
