Noor was arrested and charged with third-degree murder (link). This case always had a foul aroma to me. See a previous exchange back in July, when the incident happened:

What evidence is there that this was sectarian violence?
Logic. Noor isn't talking. However the shooting was across the other officer. Why was his gun out of the holster? How threatening did a 40 year old female really appear?

And most to the point why is this pooh-poohed?

doubtful that Freeman will get a conviction, and he certainly won't get any cooperation from anyone associated with MPD as they fortify their Blue Wall of Silence, but at least they filed charges.

This has an Islamist tinge. Maybe not much of a "blue wall."

There’s been no evidence that he acted out of malice but the whole thing proceeded so slowly that one has to think that deference to Muslims was part of that. The fact that Noor refused to testify contributed, as well. It’s hard to see how he will present a defense without taking the stand.

makes no difference whether it was an Australian woman, or a black guy running away, or someone sitting in their car complying with directions...all posed a perceived threat to life

The question for the jury will be was it a reasonable fear? It’s hard to see how it could be but we will see how the evidence unfolds. The whole situation unfolded against the backdrop of cops being assassinated by radicals stirred up by cop haters. Every cop in the country had some fear of their life and rhetoric like we se here contributed to the problem.
