Aren't cash tickets just a less advanced version of the debit card? Or even better...aren't they just checks?

Debit cards leave an electronic trail. People who want to do business in cash only might not want that trail. Otherwise, almost anything can be done with a card. I actually do small things in cash simply because the banks sock everybody with fees on every transaction which then goes into costs of stuff bought at retail. But since I'm not sweating the electronic trail, I make my cash stretch by doing most stuff with a card. I don't worry anymore about getting $20's. They can always be broken somewhere.

There was (still is)? a TCF Bank ATM on the U of M West Bank campus in the Gopher Way near Wilson Library that gave out $5 bills, but that was over ten years ago so I don't know if it still does.
