I hear what happens in other parts of the country, and Michigan sounds pretty good. We are not plagued with hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, mudslides, and flooding. We have them now and then, but not as often or severe as others. We don't have terrible heat in the summer or terrible cold in the winter. Not like places like Nevada or Minnesota. We have two bad months a year, January and February. I can deal with that. Every time I hear about a hurricane Katrina or Sandy, I am thankful I live in good old Michigan.

We have some of everything it takes to survive here. Water, farm land, grazing land, minerals. We have beaches and skiing resorts. We have a beautiful peninsula here, and I can't see living anywhere else. Get Snyder out of office and it would be nearly perfect. The world is going through a recession, not just Michigan. That too will change.

Weather patterns are changing. What is the point of living in the northern tier if next to no snow falls anymore?

Take away the snow, and it makes December through March a lot less interesting and fun, that is for sure. I might have to move farther north if this keeps up. Maybe the other side of Lake Superior?

Perhaps...
I do see a pattern change for this week and particularly next week as the the Lake Effect finally kicks on. Some very cold arctic air will move over the relatively mild lake waters and a few feet could easily fall in the favored areas by the end of the month. The question will be how long the cold air lasts again.

Nice post until you had to ruin it with that political loogie.

I want to move out of Michigan, unless I can find myself in the Upper Peninsula.

Get up there and look around, maybe you can find yourself there. If that fails try the desert. A lot of people go to the desert to find themselves.

Oh no, not that kind of finding myself, like introspection, just location. It's probably a verb form influenced by years of French study.
