We're looking at a few houses and one area that we found a house is sort of South Palmetto Bay (East Perrine area). The Schools are Perrine Elementary, Southwood Middle and Palmetto Senior High. Is this a good family area and are the schools good? Thanks!

Palmetto Bay is a good area. It is just south of Pinecrest, which is a very good area. My mother lives in Palmetto Bay and I am always impressed with how clean and well kept the yards are there. Alos, on holidays you see lots of American flags. I'm not sure what sort of metric that is but I consider it a plus.

The OP is looking at a home just south of Palmetto Bay in East Perrine not actually in Palmetto Bay.

It has a Palmetto Bay address though so it is Palmetto Bay, just in the southern part.

East Perrine is within Palmetto Bay. As said above Southwood and Palmetto are great schools. Can you give an idea of the intersection (just personal opinion, but I don't care for the area between 87th Ave and US1/168th and 184th streets).

Hi Sarah...we're moving from PA. My husband is already in Miami as he got a job back in January with the University. We'll be moving in July. We did find a rental and we're just waiting for the papers to go through. My oldest son is 11 (12 soon). He'll be going to Southwood. My other son is 8 months so we have awhile before he starts school. Sounds like we may be in the same area! Where are you moving from?

Yeah, we haven't come across any 6 month rentals. We got one for a year. I found it on realtor.com
