debby once you guys get settled, take a trip over to maui and you will agree. be sure to hit upcountry maui, rural life is quite serene.

Very good point. They aren't comparing apples to apples.

I mean, St John vs St Croix vs St Thomas. All are just as different as the islands within Hawaii.

I don't know. I didn't write it, I only spotted it online and posted it for fun. HOWEVER I've gone by speedboat from STX to STT in a couple of hours; the territory is pretty small. My spouse's ship captain job takes him all over the state of HI and sometimes he has a 36 hour run from one port to the next.

SOOOO true. We love living rural on STX, we would be miserable on cosmopolitan STT. Which is why we've chosen to rent a home on BI in a rural area near Hilo instead of on Oahu where his job is based (but he's 30 days on/30 off so we don't have to live nearby).
