I would love to. But that's not really possible in healthcare.
Obviously it's not (yet) as possible in surgery but it is possible in healthcare.

Albany, Brattleboro, Pittsfield?? All are about an hour drive which isn't much different than commuting from some Boston 'burbs into downtown.

Got another Flipper house in Brockton near the Easton line. Bought in Feb for 420k, then after the flipping put it back on the market at 625k. They got contingent twice but both times seller must have backed out. Price's been cut multiple times, now down to 530k.

Not a fan of them painting the outside pea green.

Yes, they could have definitely picked something better than that pea green! Pulled it up on street view and looks like a nice little cul-de-sac neighborhood. That was good thinking of them to take the giant tree down that was directly in front of the house. That could have given future homeowners major anxiety (I know I'd have concerns having such a large tree that close)!

My point is that only a small percentage of jobs can be done remotely. Poster above made it sound like anyone can live in North Adams and work from home.

I think it’s incorrect that only a small percentage of jobs can be done remotely. Come on a surgeon should know that, lol. We know some jobs will never be able to but a lot can. A lot were before covid.

Okay then why doesn't everyone just live and work from home in North Adams then.

Because it’s not a desirable place to live. People for whatever reason still want the toney suburbs as far as i can see. Probably for the schools. There are people out there who have moved further out. I just don’t think north Adams of all places is on many peoples lists.

I think more people are hybrid these days so there are people still going into the office. Whether they need to be in the office is debatable. Most people were fully remote for at least a year and it seemed to work, I just don’t think everyone liked it. People wanted to and still want to see butts in chairs. The needing to collaborate and be face to face is BS.

Interesting article on Duxbury and I think this is relatable to many other areas around here lately:

Schools are only relavant if there are students. The post 2008 birthrate has dramatically lowered school enrollment.
