Yes. A friend of mine (who was in the eligibility group), showed up at a Walgreens albeit in CT late in the day, and got the vaccine. I think the key is to be in the eligible group.

I do know of people that have gotten if by being right place at the right time. It does look like there is always a chance.

Given the option of discarding or putting in an arm, I think most people would rather put it in an arm.

Why is the state proceeding with Phase 4 when numbers are going up? I know they are hoping to out-vaccinate the virus - but that seems risky in view of a worsening trend. https://www.nbcboston.com/news/coron...plans/2334102/

75+ in MA as of Tuesday was 78%. The previous week (3/9) it was 75%. Getting 100% participation just isn't going to happen.
It’s not even begging. It’s more like clearing the standby list at the airport gate to catch an earlier flight home. That’s how I got mine a couple of weeks early. That airplane seat would have been empty if I hadn’t taken the seat. Pfizer can only be at room temperature for 6 hours before you have to discard it.

I have kinda stopped looking to the USA for any guidance beyond Fauci. I try to emulate what a place like New Zealand is doing to protect themselves, and then look to a place like Germany or the UK to see whats coming next.

New Zealand is an isolated island state, so apples to oranges.

Numbers aren't going up. Cases are only flattening but hospitalizations are continuing to go down.

But I mean more like being an early adopter of masks. Why wait for the US to argue about it, you could see it in action in Asia. South Korea tested a lot, I go get tested every week. etc, etc

As of Friday, March 19, Massachusetts went over 1 million residents fully vaccinated (either 2 shots of Modern/Pfizer-BioNTech or 1 shot of J&J)...

More than its isolation, this is emblematic of why NZ got to where it is. Witness this recent lockdown due to a *single* case of Covid detected in Auckland!

And yes, it's too late for the US to go back now and we will hopefully vaccinate our way out of this. But it's not just NZ...there are other countries (Australia, Vietnam, Laos, Korea, Taiwan, even Japan) who have set stellar examples and they are not isolated islands.
