Can't measure it that way. It's the percentage of the population. They allocate more vaccines to states with higher populations.

Yes, MA is approximately 6X the population of RI. I'm just posting the numbers.

Default We should have a sticky for academic reopening

It sounds like there's increasingly a number of plans of reopening for this autumn. First Harvard and now BU.

No need. You should assume that all schools will be 100% open this fall.

I found the passage below from the administration's March 10 press release interesting. Don't want to make too much of it, I am guessing the supply varies each week... but this week, the state received only 155,000 doses, which isn't great, and they gave out 250,000 doses from their stash to the vaccination sites. Clearly, there are still some issues with vaccine supply.

"State Distribution:

This week, the state will receive a constrained supply of about 155,000 first doses.

This week, first doses and second dose allocations (total doses), were divided among providers as follows:
  • Mass vaccination sites: 83,000
  • Hospital Providers (both private and public): 79,000
  • Regional Collaboratives (12 total): 38,000
  • Community Health Centers: 25,000
  • Local Boards of Health (to complete 2nd dose appointments and support 20 disproportionately impacted communities): 25,000

Weekly allocations are subject to change based on federal availability, demand from providers, and obligations to meet second doses. Providers have 10 days to use their doses."

If you read it, CVS and Walgreeens got another 95k doses (both first and second) and 19k of J&J to 'community health centers'.

What? - you mean all the students didn’t move to Springfield/Holyoke and switch to Khan/Coursera?

What is interesting about that press release is that hospitals are receiving nearly the same amount of doses as Mass vax sites. While there has been much discussion of scheduling at Mass vax sites, I know of several people who received emails and texts from Beth Israel Lahey Health this week with direct links to schedule appointments as early as next week. These are not pre-registration links, but simple 1-2 click booking for an appointment. All information is pre-filled and the invitation is only good for the receipient.

Ahhh, that wasn't clear to me, if those 95,000 doses mentioned below are additional, then yes, it balances out...

And why the heck not. I can easily see where universities ask for proof of vaccination before registering for fall classes. BU even announced an in-person graduation ceremony in October, for the class of 2020 (whose graduates, like my child, got shafted).
