Another Rick Charette fan here- guess I am a groupie since I even went to one of his concerts when my girls were young!

You are right about the "Alligator in the Elevator" song title- my all time fav song of his is entitled "Mud!"

Last I knew he is still singing and living in N Windham area. I believe he even has his own website - Welcome to the official Rick Charette website!. Awesome songs for the young and the old and everyone else in between

I prefer Tommy Cox a Maine native performer.

We have 3 of his CDs.

Does anyone remember the words to grasshopper green?

It kind of went like this;
Grasshopper green was a merry old chap
he lived in the best a-ray
With bright colored jacket and ? cap......

can't remember the rest, but a friend used to sing it to me when I was a kid.

Thanks!

Sorry Chiisai, I was hoping I could find it through google, but this is the only PG rated song about grasshoppers I could find:

Green Grasshopper, hop! hop! hop!
Green Grasshopper, hop! hop! hop!
Your legs are so strong, you jump so high
But I’m gonna catch you! hop! hop! hop!

Over the bush and into the tree
Onto a rock and into the stream
But I’m gonna catch you! hop! hop! hop

So put your legs together and play your violin

Green Grasshopper, hop! hop! hop!
Green Grasshopper, hop! hop! hop!
Your legs are so long, you jump so far
But I’m gonna catch you! hop! hop! hop!

Onto a leaf, balanced on the edge
Out of the grass and over the hedge
But I’m gonna catch you! hop! hop! hop

So put your legs together and play your violin

Green Grasshopper, hop! hop! hop!
Green Grasshopper, hop! hop! hop!
Your legs are so quick, you jump so fast
But I’m gonna catch you! hop! hop! hop!

It’s getting late and I’m getting tired
You’re moving much too fast
And I don’t know where you hide
I’m not gonna catch you! hop! hop! hop

So put your legs together and play your violin

I guess I’ll never catch you!
Hop! hop! hop

Is this it?
Grasshopper Green
Author Unknown
Grasshopper Green is a comical chap:
He lives on the best of fare.
Bright little trousers, jacket and cap,
These are his summer wear.
Out in the meadow he loves to go,
Playing away in the sun;
It's hopperty, skipperty, high and low,
Summer's the time for fun.
Grasshopper Green has a quaint little house;
It's under the hedge so gay.
Grandmother Spider, as still as a mouse,
Watches him over the way.
Gladly he's calling the children, I know,
Out in the beautiful sun;
It's hopperty, skipperty, high and low,
Summer's the time for fun.

Happy Belated Birthday Chiisai!

My inner child mostly stays the in fetal position in a corner somewhere. I think I molested him once.
