Hi - My family including our 3 year old son is relocating to the Augusta region soon. My son is currently in an excellent emergent curriculum program in Vermont and we are hoping to find something comparable in the region. He currently attends 4 days a week, full days.

My new job is in Augusta and we are exploring housing options this weekend. I suspect we will prefer to reside in Hallowell, Gardiner or perhaps as far south as Brunswick. However, an excellent program in the area may help drive our decision.

I also heard that many places in Maine provide pre-K programs for 4 year olds so our daycare issues may be somewhat short term if he ends up entering a public program next September.

Any help?

Thanks!

Default Still looking for info

Sorry to bump this one up, but at least I can clarify now that some pieces have fallen into place. First, we are looking for full-day child care in the Augusta region. We secured a short-term house rental which will cover us until May. We found a Montessori school online that is located in Chelsea. We heard there is another one in Hallowell. Also, we were told that Maine General has a daycare program for their employees and members of the community. I am looking for information on any of these programs or other programs in the Augusta area that would be worth looking into.

Thanks!

Default Child care availability

Hi there,

Just wondering if you have found child care for your child. I will be opening a day care center shortly in my home in Augusta. I have openings from infants through age 12. I offer a loving, nurturing home environment with emphasis on the emotional, social, educational, and nutritional development of children. I am a licensed Registered Nurse in Maine and am looking to apply this knowledge to the care of children.
