There is an outfit called State of Maine fiddleheads. They can them. This time of year they also sell them fresh.

I bought 29 cans of canned and shipped them back to Indiana when I was up there last Fall, and although they are good, they just do not compare with the fresh/frozen ones...that is what I am looking for at this time....
Thanks!

I priced out shipping 5 pounds of fiddleheads using UPS and their shipping fee was $52.

USPS seems about half that, but I know that they have conditions about perishable goods. I need to look into that.

Fiddleheads are mostly gone by here now. They were over $5.00 a pound in the store yesterday!

Some friendly posters recently informed me that Trader Joe's carries them in the frozen food section. Any Trader Joe's out your way?

There is a Trader Joe's over in Ohio, it is about and hour and a hlaf away, I may call them tomorrow and see if they have them, if so it would be much cheaper to drive there than to pay so much in shipping...

I realize this reply is like two years later, but I'm also in Indiana and have been wanting some of these myself. There is a company called earthy delights that sells them fresh and frozen, but be prepared to pay and dreadful price. 2 lbs of frozen is 30 bucks, and the shipping I believe was another 40 dollars.

I keep wondering if I couldn't find them here in in Indiana. They don't just grow in Maine, you can get them in Michigan too, and the first time I had them as a little girl was in Kentucky.
