What part of Maine?

Here in WMass for the last 8 weeks it is nothing but T-storms, rain, more rain, more T-storms...and humid. Mosquitos after you at every turn.

Concerning Marin...I lived in the northern most town and it got hot. But, even worse was another town a bit south because it was in a little valley. Plus, and probably more importantly, our apartment was on the second floor with big windows facing southwest. The sun would never set in that place. I'd come home from work at 10pm and the temp was still 90 degrees inside the joint.
I don't like the Sacramento heat. And it can get hot up route 1 and into the towns north of the Golden Gate, especially Novato and up to Santa Rosa. There are lots of valleys in CA where the sun just loves to heat up. I prefer the bay area weather more as I used to live in silicon valley but my son was born here in Sac so I will always try to have a place out here. I prefer 4 seasons. People out here in the west like 2 seasons and when it gets a little chilly, all you here is, "Wow! It's chilly tonight". They can't really comprehend temps below 30 degrees. That's just crazy talk.

You are a lucky lady.

I just had a route and ended at the pier area in San Francisco and left around 3pm. We got over the Bay Bridge and into Emeryville at about 3:45. I can picture the spot you describe. You are fortunate to have had that experience.

Of course you probably know that Woodland is where Dustin Pedroia is from. His folks still have a large tire dealership on Maine street.

I think I might be on the verge of spontaneous combustion if it's 80* and humid. I lived in Georgia, North Carolina, Florida and the Philippines. Definitely not for me as I hate the heat. I'll take 20*, sunshine and snowshoes over a hot summer.

I'm in northern Washington county. The mosquitoes are horrible this year and the black flies are still out. It rained Saturday, Monday and today. Sunday's sun was a much needed break. If this continues it's going to make for a long winter.

It isn't luck, it's the choice we made.

If this continues 'til winter, Maine will be covered with glaciers by February.
