Two feet of snow on the flat, still plenty in the woods. We were ground zero for a few wicked storms this winter. There is a bagillion cubic feet of ice just across the road. Ice out ain't gonna be early this year, that's for sure! Were going to check on some deer and moose yards this week. Locals have told tales of a hundred deer or more by the Green Acres in Sebec.

The deer have left their yards down here. Sebago is still locked up tight as of last Friday. People were still ice fishing out there under the new law. Most of our snow is gone now. The ice is out of my in-law's 10 acre pond and the geese are back. Lots of woodcock around too. We had several thunder showers this morning. Strange for April when it's only 45 degrees out.

I've decided it's Spring as of yesterday when the ice cracked up on the stream by my house. Of course, the ground is still pretty much covered in snow and it's 20 degrees outside right now, but I'm choosing to be optimistic...

It's supposed to snow here on Wednesday. Good grief people; It isn't June yet!

THAT must be why some folks think we have 9 mo of winter. A snow in April -- or May for that matter -- does not winter make, in my opinion. But then I'm not from here...

It for sure never made it winter in Michigan.

My son took a dip in Frenchman's Bay yesterday. I took that as a sign that winter was over. Or my son is crazy, but I prefer to go with the previous option.

Haha- one of his friends that was with us came running over and said "I know you're going to ground him! He's all wet!", and I thought..."nah...he'll have his own consequences when he's cold and wet on the ride home!".

And when did it start (for you)?
We have snow banks where I am.

the two "winter months" are january and febuary

those two months are the heart of winter, december and march, can also be winter but usually a bit milder

november it cools off, but it can still be in the 60,s

and april, yes we certainly can get a snowstorm, but we can easily see days in the 60's

a few years ago, I played golf late in november, and then again in march

any snow from this point on,,,probly wont last long,,,,it will melt fast.

also keep in mind, from kittery , (southern maine) to fort kent (northern maine) is 392 miles on google all in one state, so winters are different depending on where you are in the state

372 miles south of kittery is philadelphia 5 states away
