But for this particular article, rating Maine dead last... yeah, consider the source. I don't think it's anything personal on the magazine's part. But it is Forbes magazine, after all. Being called anti-business by Forbes is like being called anti-supervillian by Lex Luthor.

Heh, heh...yeah, and consider the fact that so many "outside interests" also seem to be hell bent on keeping it "pristine" and "vacationland," and just exactly who those "outside interests" may be.

That's surprising. Maine is less business friendly than Vermont? The state where they make you sign a document in your own blood that 50% of any profit you make off of a business will be donated to environmental groups and/or Democrat politicians?

Wow.

Vermont may have Prop 250 and be hostile to business, but they don't have 52% of the state governed by only seven unelected functionaries. In fact, no other state in the nation has anything like LURC. They are the albatross around our necks.

I just mailed my absentee ballot in on Friday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I know my family back there is also very pro Lepage.

I just read this on the NC forum. It is sad indeed to see Maine at the bottom. NC ranked 3rd, but unemployment is still close to 10 % AND the quality of life ranked all the way down at 32. Not surprising. I would still move back!
