i'm moving to long beach in a month to a month and a half and am desperately looking for a job. i'm a tech and proposal writer. i've been applying like mad and there seem to be a lot of jobs in my field out in l.a. county and orange county areas. does anyone have any suggestions? tips? i'll pretty much do anything regarding the above, editing, or even admin work.

can you see how desperate i am? i'm asking the internet for help! yay!

Can you make a trip for interviews? That helps.

I guess I'd ask if you really HAVE to move in six weeks, or can you stay where you are until things start looking up?

were about to start the same search from out of state. so i cant help too much. we used to live in LA and its a tough place to get a job no matter, were about to try to move back. have you tweaked yer resume? cover letter? typically you should get one interview for every ten resumes sent, maybe 15 in this economy. if your not getting that type of response, oyu might want to look at your stuff a little closer. just a suggestion. best of luck.

actually, i think my resume and cover letters are pretty stellar. i have a lot of experience and tailor both to match whatever i'm applying for. i kind of just copy and paste whatever they're looking for and formulate it into sentences within the cover letter. so, i dunno. i guess i'll just try my luck when i get out there. i'm from alabama, so maybe they'll look upon me as a novelty when i get out there. cute little southern girl to liven things up? ha.

again, thanks for the suggestions. appreciate it.
