Unfortunately for your friends they mistimed it. There wasn't quite the right economy, or environmental standards, 30 years ago like you'll see over the next 5 - 10 years.

It's not even close........ They are miles above living in bad section of NYC .

Agreed. Timing is everything. 30 years ago my uncle's house was worth 40k..... Brooklyn. He just sold it for 2 million. The area gentrified...... The investor who can read the market will be rich overnight . Long island beachfront property is prime real estate.......
