Hello. I have been reading all these articles in the newspapers about bonuses that some employers were giving out for Christmas or "end of year" bonus's. Some of these people are getting a very, very good bonus. Well, my company does give something, but not even close to what some of my friends employers give. I know some that get thousands and I know some that get canned hams, lol. Sometimes I feel short changed.
So what does your employer do for a bonus?

Well, I am sure no one can beat this employer's gift..
A box of chocolate with the chocolate turned white from getting too hot.
Happened many many years ago.. the employer was a trucking company and we all agreed it was probably freight that had been refused.

My father-in-law worked for Proctor & Gamble for 30 years. Every year, he would get a big box loaded with all kinds of goodies. I understand that it started off many years ago when the company would supply Christmas dinner for each of its employees. He retired more then 20 years ago. It kept comming after his retirement. He died 4 years ago. Now they send it to his wife. We are wondering if we will still receive the gift when we are 86 years old! The whole family looks forward to it every year. Merry Christmas everyone.

My dh got a small bonus this year but it is not for Christmas. It is for making the sales target for the year, for putting in at least 50 hours a week every week. It is not even 10% of his pay and he will get about half of it because of uncle Sam.
I have a seasonal business so my employees are working about 9 months a year. I continue their health benefits thru the winter for them at my own cost plus they get about 2-3 weeks salary with their last paycheck. Considering they work 9 months, they get the benefits for 12.

I cannot understand that these people who get thousands of dollars of bonus's are from banks that are loosing money. How can people justify getting so much in a bonus?

My company gives a minimum bounus of 600.00. Whatever is made over that is the percentage they give you for the year x your weekly paycheck. It changes every year though!
