No, we might have rebuilt a few things, but that was only because that's our maintenance. Ignore it for 50 years then rebuild it.

In fact they are replacing 7 bridges on the Belt Parkway because they are about to collapse.

Which leads me to this question: How are teh State Parkways (SSP, NSP, WSP) in such good shape, yet another Moses road, the belt parkway is and has been a war zone of crumbling infrastructure.

In all fairness they are making changes to the Staten Island Expressway to make it more useable.

I'm surprised to learn that bridge was built with an intended life span of 50 years (no other bridge has such) It was built during the Korean War when materials were short, so lesser quality materials were used, with the intention of replacing the bridge in the future. However teh bridge is now 57 years old.

I don't care as much about the plant. It would have been nice but what about the way off the island. I want the dam bridge. Have you ever try getting out or on the island during rush hr.
Your reply makes no sense; my comment was about how many of the NIMBYs who fought to prevent Shoreham from opening are still here and paying for the fruit of their labor, vs whether they've died off or left LI leaving us holding the bag.

Four people I knew well from HS and college protested it. 1 lives in Mexico, 1 lives in Ohio, 1 in Oregon, and the last upstate near Binghamton. They're paying far less than we are, and we're stuck with the hefty bill. We have nukes just across from us in CT -- we're f'ed no matter what if one were to go Chernobyl on us.

Who are the trolls?

Those that are hijacking the thread with other issues or those that are making statements that aren't in line with Graf's wishes/promises?
