It isn't the first day of 105 that gets to you. It is when you get 50 days of it in a row and 30 straight nights where the "low" is 85 and up that make it such a lovely place in summer.

Right now at 1:15am it's 88º which might be the overnight low. The weather weenie said it would be a record high ─ low temp tonight.

High of 85 with a nice little thunderstorm here today I sat out on my balcony at 11:30 this morning thinking how I wouldn't even bother trying such a thing in Vegas.

It will be 109 today. I wonder what the Vegans will do. Will they hide indoors? Go swimming? Go to Mt Charleston? Or what?

I hate it already! It's a 'dry heat', but it's still hot as Hell. I want to be in San Diego!

Well, I recently moved here from the East Coast as well, and I can tell you that I'd much rather be here in 105 heat than in D.C. in 90 with all the associated humidity. And just wait until August when it can hit 100 degrees there, too! There's a reason that Congress and the rest of the city basically closes down for the entire month. Its horrible! You step outside and immediately become soaked in sweat.
