All the ballet parking attendants do it Aqua...at least in Steve Martin's warped imagination.

I always TRY to tip the cabby, but I never have the right change, and they are always in a hurry, so I always screw it up. I think I gave a woman cabby in LA ten cents once. I couldn't figure it out and later when I thought about it I must have given her ten cents. No wonder she looked at me funny.

Just as long as you don't flash the cabby, they've got a tough enough job as it is.

Yup, Las Vegas is a town that is full of tipped workers. You want better service? Better tip.

You want better cards? Better tip. I don't care what anyone else says, cards can change, especially when your play is so predictable. I'm a dealer. I work for tips, and that means if someone is winning, I expect some action. I came to work to make money, and if it's not going to be for me - then it's going to be for the house.

Your comment above that I highlighted is beyond idiotic. It is even beyond moronic.

Be that as it may, even though in 30 years of playing cards in Vegas and elsewhere I have never not tipped a dealer, in your case with your attitude, if I were at your table I do believe that I'd have to make an exception.

I HAVE stiffed dealers for having her attitude and will do so anytime.

There is even casinos I won't play at due to the attitude of their dealers.

I always tip the housekeeping staff as well. Most business travelers know that tips to housekeeping are as routine as tips to bellmen. It has been my experience that it usually is the casual traveler - one who only takes a vacation once or twice a year - who doesn't realize that tipping housekeeping is now the norm.

BTW, although many people wait until the end of their stay to leave the tip, I tip daily to ensure that the individual who cleans the room that day is the one who receives the tip.

That's the part that I struggle with. I agree that tipping is appropriate for a person who goes out of their way to do something nice.

But when a person is paid to do a specific job, I have a hard time tipping them to do it. For example, a shuttle van driver is paid by the shuttle company (who is in turned paid by me) to do the job of driving me around. Sure he loves tips - but I have a hard time seeing the added service that he has provided.

Or when the maid cleans my room. I appreciate it, but don't see how that is added service beyond what they are paid to do.

My wife works at the VA Hospital and they have valet parking for patients. The VA does not allow tipping. I like that concept!

Why in the heck should maid service be tipped?

Seriously, I think this is a great question. Is it because they're getting underpaid by the hotel? If that is the problem, the hotel needs to pay them more! Is there something new that they are doing that warrants the customer leaving a tip?

That is it. This tipping thing has gotten way out of hand. Would you believe that I went and got my car's emission test on Friday, and the station has a tip jar say "tips strongly encouraged." Give me a break, when is it going to end?

The guy who delivered my bed was pretty much asking for a tip. Zero. If your boss doesn't pay you enpough don't do the work. This seems to be a popular game in LV. Everyone gets tipped--NOT.

Tipping some bimbo, who seems to be overflowing out of her cocktail uniform, several Dollars to have a baby pool shallow conversation about her meth addicted relatives is beyond belief.

I'll take my 50% bonus a www.oddsmaker.com; the welfare mothers are on their own. Oh, but that was a beautiful tattoo on the side of your cellulite farm--nice tramp stamp.
