On December 15, 2008, MGM Mirage announced the resort would be sold for $775 million to Phil Ruffin, former owner of the The New Frontier Hotel and Casino. Ruffin took full ownership of the hotel and casino resort on Friday, March 20, 2009.

i helped open treasure island and it was great back in the day, i went to visit freinds that still work there, i snuck in back and man that place has gone to hell in a hand bag, people who had 4 weeks vacation got cut down to two weeks, just a real mess from what i understand.

Hello gang- Ive been reading everyones postings recently and do hope that all that have cleared the final hurdle to get their job they applied for do in fact get it. In reality, I think that any job at City Center will be as fruitful as any other property but since there are few places left to actually open in the next few years, I can see how a position at CC will serve as sanctuary for atleast the short term survival of those chosen in this town. With the fairly recent opening of Encore and the extremely limited long term positions that resulted from that properties opening have shown is that very little can be trusted upon to ensure stability here in the valley. Many of you have displayed a great ethusiasm and I truly hope that you get your call and succeed at CC, but what the last few years has shown is that we all need to temper our expectations of what can be achieved even IF that call comes through. Wishing everyone here the very best either way...........................! and, if you dont get that call......its City Centers loss ! Peace......
