My friend that applied for bartender has 14+ years casino on the LV Strip and helped open a casino years ago. My friend has already taken the Union's Apprenticeship training program and passed the related Craft Exam. I know that I may be a bit bias because I know that my friend is a good worker, excellent credit, etc., but I simply can't imagine them not getting a call. They've done two interviews and the DT. Just doesn't really make sense. If my friend had done a bad department interview, why would have they been sent for the DT? I feel for you all so much by just watching my friend's frustration.

Praying that calls come for you all soon--very soon!

Certainly the fact that CityCenter is new is appealing. But is that the only reason? Or do you think management will be better or people will tip more or spend more? Or do you hope the caste system is not in place and you have a better chance of climbing in the ladder and getting the sweet positions?
I believe that you can only apply for one position at the MGM properties at one time.

Hello everyone. I have been following this thread for a while now. I am in the same situation as many of you. I applied for the position back in February, then I had my first interview back in June and the second interview at the end of July. Then I had my drug test done just about the middle of September and just after that my status went Open/Blank. Still have not received a call from CC, I follow the advice of you guys of sending an e-mail since I got a business card but still have gotten no answer. My question is how many of you applied that early and have any of you received a job offer since then. On the other hand my wife applied for a job with Aria, but with Cirque and she had a two phone interviews within two weeks she applied and then a month later she got hired and she is been working there since August. But yet again they have to be ready for show on opening day. So I am keeping my app open but I am also keeping my hopes up by following this thread I guess that everyone who is already in and get information should keep us up-to-date on what they know. My wife boss who is worked for MGM for over 10 years said that usually the company would not send anyone out to drug test if they do not want to hire them. He told her that they need to get approval to drug test the people they want to hire so that gives lots of hope and makes me keep positive. As long as the status does not show as inactive then we are all in the run. Just keep your hopes up and positive, I will keep all the good thoughts for all of us we will get this call and this jobs are ours.

Pixy26, I have one other question if you don't mind; as far as bartenders go, when you mentioned in your post that 'it depends on the department' as far as when applicants may get the JO from CC, do you think that the Beverage Manager meant the specific bar (hence 'department' in your post) that each bartender may have applied for? Just curious if that is what is meant.

Thank you so much for sharing and making that call, Pixy26! It means a lot to many of us! And congratulations again!
yes, sorry pizza. When I said she mentioned it depends on the department she ment specific bar. like American fish will be doing there offers different from pool bartender, servers. Or Cafe vettro, baq, steakhose would be doing their own of sending out offers as far as when they'll start/stop for the offers. Not just for bartenders but F&B period. They are all doing it different. And she didn't meantion that cafe vettro was finished with their offers either. So there is still ALOT of hope left you guys!!
and thankx again pizza ur AWSOME!

Hello.......I applied for every casino out here and they're the only one who called me back...so that's why I'm glad I'll be working there. Wouldn't. Have cared where I worked....city center or walmart as long as it put food on the table and clothes on our backs... I think we all tried to get work at a few places .....but. no one was hiring I guess..some ppl here have jobs already.... but it doesn't hurt to want to work somewhere new..........

No Pixy26, you're awesome. It's very cool for you to have gotten that info! I figured that you meant each bar will be doing their hiring at different times, I just wanted to be sure. That makes a lot of sense and surely gives hope to those that may have not heard anything yet! My friend and I will be having a drink at your bar in the near future, regardless of how things go at this end.

Thanks again! I hope you're excited about starting a new career in Las Vegas!

For me, I would rather be at a new place starting on "day one" with the rest of the crowd. Going to one of the other properties would be kind of a drag as you are not = to your peers, but the "low man" on the totem pole. Of course, at this point, i'll take what I can get.

I can only speak for myself. Aria is the only casino on the Strip hiring for that particular position.

Same for me. PABX are few and far between. And at that a lot of people who have more experience then I do get the job more often. Some places you really have to know someone to get in. I was surprised when I got the job at Wynn and I am surprised I got the job at Aria.. With only 5 years under my belt as PABX it's not nearly as much as a lot of the Operators out there. But you have to start somewhere?

Question.. Did we ever clear up the senority deal? I never got a chance to ask my hiring Manager. And I know it was quite a few posts ago that we discussed this.. My thoughts.. Can they really make your senority by your # position? My Husband seems to think they may do it by last name if everyone in the department has the same starting date? We all have the same start date in my department. So, if they post senority by who got called 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on then it would be kinda weird seeing that "first person called" and "last person called" as being at the bottom.. I have no idea..
