Hi All, My man and I will be relocating to the vegas area in January/February for a great job opportunity that he can't pass up. He's in the hospitality industry and will be working a lot..at least 12 hour days. I'll be looking for a 9-5 gig once we're out there. This is going to be a tough move as I'll be leaving my family and friends behind. We know nothing about the surrounding land outside of the strip but have been told that Summerlin and Henderson are the best areas to live. He'll be working on the strip. Since I'll be on my own for the majority of the time, due to his crazy hours, I want to make sure that we live in an area where I feel safe being alone and where there is a lot of activity going on to entertain myself. If you have any recommendations for specific areas to live in within these locations, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I would love to here any suggestions for meeting new people and making friends, especially with other young ladies who may be in a similar situation. I'm a 31yr F with no kids. Thanks for your help!

I lived in Summerlin and really liked it. It's extremely clean and safe and I never felt like it was dangerous living there (single female living alone). There is tons to do there and it's an easy commute from the Strip.
