Your assumption about law clerks is incorrect, only attorneys can represent clients... even for lowly tickets. The cheap ticket attorneys handle tickets in bulk to be profitable.
I appreciate you clearing this up for us.

The points don't impact most people, only the most extreme violators. What does matter is insurance premiums increasing due to a ticket or two. Fighting to get a ticket reduced to a non-moving violation (no points) means your insurance will not see it and be able to use it as a basis for raising your rates. Another thing it protects is your driving history report with the DMV. Jobs that give you access to vehicles will use this to screen applicants.

once awhile I make illegal u-turn when it's safe to do so or I have to drive all the way around to get back. I might need Craig kenny is he still the one to call? this thread is a little old so I was wondering.

so 90 dollars fine and no points? that's reduced so what's the penalty normally? thanks

I paid the 50 bucks to a lawyer to clear up my 35 in a 25 speed trap ticket.

They said that the county still wants me to take traffic school or pay a higher fine. 250 instead of 150.
My insurance is already 285 a month with a clean record (first ticket I have gotten in over a decade) so I'd rather pay the 300 to keep the points off than to pay 1000+ in extra insurance premiums.

What really irks me is the stupid low minimum required coverage in this state. 10k in property damage? 15k in medical? That might work in 1930, but not today, so I have to use my comp insurance deductible to cover someone else' crap driving, which will raise my premiums through no fault of my own. All of this because no one wants to admit that they're a crap driver.
If we actually had proper driver training, we wouldn't have 2.3 MILLION people injured in accidents every year with 30+ thousand killed. We could have higher speed limits, and safer roads.

Minor tickets in Clark County are now being automatically reduced to non moving violation. You can skip the whole attorney step.

What constitutes a minor ticket - common speeding, illegal u-turns, lane change, stop sign, etc? anything below gross & negligent operation, DUI, etc?

With the accident I haven't had the time to get to the court house, or I would have tried that.

Speeding tickets less than 10 over, improper lane change, etc. Not sure of every instance.

You can find out if your ticket was automatically commuted when you call the number on the ticket after 5 days. If it wasn't, go the attorney route.

The first (1 demerit) moving violation in a rolling 3 year period is reduced. Subsequent ones are not.
