On the other side of things.. How about all those cops that are murdered because they didn't react the way they should. Gangs in Los Angeles are known for Cop Killing because they move up the ranks quickly. This is common with the large 18th street gangs. I know there are bad cops and there are good cops, after all they are human and they represent every background you can think of. I just think that it takes a lot of guts to be a police officer and they have a hard and stressed out job. I guess until I wear a badge myself, I shouldn't even judge their daily routines.

I am married to a career firefighter and I come from a family of firefighter's and police officers. Unless you experience it, you have no idea what it is like to send your spouse, child, parent off tho work everyday to a job that you know there is a realistic possibility that they may not come home to you at the end of their shift. My husband's cousin was a Detroit cop and was killed on the job less than 18 months after leaving the academy. I am sorry, but when you are confronted by the police you need to put both hands where they can see them and follow directions. They wouldn't be talking to you in the first place if they didn't have a reason and to antagonize the situation more is just plain stupid. Regarding the incident being referred to in prior posts, the woman grabbed her child and was acting in a threatening manner. If she had just stopped and acted rational and followed directions she would still be here. I am not willing to judge the situation because I was not there. I would not choose to be there and thankfully there are men and women who everyday put their lives on the line to try and keep us all safe.

I can't tell you how many times my husband has almost been hit by a car while on the side of the road working an accident scene. All because somebody is to impatient to wait a few minutes while the scene is stabalized so that traffic can be allowed to flow safely.

Live your life like an honest citizen and the police aren't going to harass you. Break the law and suffer the consequences.

Anyway it is open season on citizens here. There are more cop shootings in Vegas then any other city except Portland Or. which also leads in oink brutality cases. We dont have as many brutality cases here because they just shoot you with no consequence.

The Coroners inquest system is truely a Kangaroo Court System. In the last 30 years since the Coroners office has kept records, there have been just over 100 cop shootings of unarmed innocent citizens. Never since Clark County was incorporated has a cop ever been held criminally responsible for the murder he commited. Only one time actually in 1976 was one convicted. It was overturned in 30 days.

Never in the last 30 years has a member of the jury voted guilty to a cop. Only once actually, except once....in 1996 a jury found cop Genter innocent by 6-1 to walk free after killing an innocent man. The lone juryman Mark Lepage who voted against the cop was wisked off where to this day has never been found. Yes it is true. Just like the Cowboy and Indian days.

Just last month members of the worlds largest street gang of thugs with the tin badges shot an innocent ice cream vender. They claim she had a knife. More then 20 witnesses came to court and called to testify. Each and every one of them said she did not have any weapon. None. Several of the witnesses reported unidentified authorities confronted them and threatened them into saying they did indeed see a weapon. Crooked corrupt %^&*

That is just one of the many many like the kid who was handcufffed in the back seat of the cop car and got out and ran. The thug cops emptied, not shot at, emptied their guns into the mans back who was handcuffed. We can only guess that they had way too many donuts and could not run after the handcuffed boy so it was easier to shoot. I mean what the hell...there would be no consequence.

Then we had another famous one where one was doing 121 MPH with no lights of any kind on. He killed 4 people and got off with nothing more then free benifits for his family for life. One week later a teenage kid ran a stop sign and killed 4 people. He will never see outside the bars of prison for the rest of his life.

Dont you LV lovers dare deny any of this. You can love this city all you want but you know it and I know it that they think this is the wild wild west still. They dont even respond to calls around here. It is public knowledge that they dont even investigate car theft here although that seems to be changing with all these bait cars.
Dude you are so off base I don't even know where to start. Maybe you should go through the academy and walk a beat for awhile. There is that little problem of the psych eval though.... Cops are cops, you don't bother them they don't bother you. FWIW I would HATE to be a cop here, you don't know if a perp is drunk, on drugs or just plain psycho. I say shoot first and ask questions later.

I think I read somewhere that one of the most dangerous job (fatalities) is being a Night Clerk at a 7-11 or Circle K...or such.. I thought a Police Office or Fire fighter would have more casualties.

Metro is known for not screwing around and they are certainly not gun-shy, but I'm amazed to hear people suggest that metro officers enjoy shooting people. I'm sure when it happens, the cop is devastated. Most of the people they shoot and kill don't appear to have been contributing to society anyway. I say clean up the streets as much as you can. Save the tax payers the money of having these dead beats sitting in a cell for 50 years. If you don't want to get shot in the back, don't run from the cops.

The whole "life in prison" thing doesn't compute with me. These guys have nothing to loose and the attitude is why should I change my ways? These are the same guys that start the prison gangs and commit murder and more crimes from behind bars. Sometimes I think Hard Labor Military style prisons should be standard for hard criminals.

My thing is is they have life in prison or even on death row, the get better treatment then some of the people we have living in our cities, that really need our help. I don't know why we have to pay to have people live their lives in prison or death row. Just kill them already. I would make some of the other inmates on death row kill them. They already killed someone, why not another person that actually deserves it!!!!

I'm not saying that killing people is ok. But why do we have a government that gives sentences like death row, and life in prison, when that really isn't what happens to them. I just think that if we really up held the laws and not let people off with a smack on the wrist, we would have a lot less crimes!

I know people are probably going to give me a lot of sh** for this one, but it is just my opinion.

Just like these doctors that caused this Hep crisis. You are telling me that they could have caused the death of all of these people and all they are going to have to do it not practice medicine again, is that right?

Thinking like that is what Adolf Hitler was all about. What Josef Stalin was all about. What dictatorships and communism and growing up in 11th world hell hole countries with zero human rights is all about.

Did you forget you live in a free country? I know we are losing our freedoms one by one but we still are the 4th most free country on earth.

Your discriptions of why you would not want to be a cop is copmanship 101. It is taught in the very first day at the oink acadamy. They are trained to know if a perp is drunk or drugged or the other things you said.

That is not what this is all about here. We are talking about cop abuses of the system and police brutality. That should not be tolerated.

Shoot first and ask questions later huh. You are a sick man. I wonder what your tune would be if a cop shot your mother, father, sister or brother because they asked the cop why they were pulled over. You should be ashamed of yourself. Really man.

And a big Hiel surfdude to you.
