Call the DMV and ask. I called a second time just to make sure. And yep. You need the same requirements as a license, plus proof of adderess of home state, plus proof of your nevada residence. A voter registration from your home state. Proof you pay taxes in your home state. And you must stay in nevada at least 30 days. Call:
Rural Nevada/Out of State 1-877-368-7828 option 6 Toll Free
When I get back with my birth certificate, I'll take a pic of the ID. And put up a link.
It's not that I don't want to pay any fees. Actually I would pay nevada to keep my home license if I had to. I need it to conduct buisness in my home state. If the state is hurtin', why don't they just start taking state tax out of all your pay checks. Most states do this.

Nevada has always been a "Pay for what you use" state....if you dont drive, you don't need a license.....If there were a State income Tax to subsidize all of these things, you would be paying for what you don't use.

I have a strange one for the forum. I am here on a work assignment with my company - a 5 month work assignment. They provided me with a rental vehicle so I could avoid wear and tear on my vehicle (I know I know.....mileage pays more). Anyway, is that illegal....does the company have to rent a local vehicle for me?

Just curious...

Let it be.

To determine if a vehicle has to be registered locally is a job that might well take a skilled attorney a day or more. There are lots of variables.

So drive it lots of miles and enjoy. If you ever get stopped the told you to do it.

All will be OK.

I'm moving to LV at the end of this month. I want to get a DL as soon as I get there. I read the info on the DMV website, but don't understand: I expect to take a written test, but since they won't eccept my N. Carolina DL as ID, will they make me take a driving test also, just to exchange my current license for a NV lincense. The website also doesn't not make it clear how much this will cost. Does anyone no the answer or have had the experience?

Unless you have a bunch of violations, all you have to do is surrender your current license, and take a vision test. The total cost is around $25. I posted a link that identify's it.
