That is true...sort of. Now that NLV is even larger than Reno I don't think you have to worry about it. You'd have to be visually challenged to not be able to see the difference between the old town and the new. But I'd stay in the Northwest or far north part as far away from the old part of town as possible.

I'm thinking of going to BC this summer. Is it safe up there?

That's just insulting. And shows ignorance.

Generally, for now. But I'd still go as far north as possible. Even then I'd ask myself, "Do I really want a NLV zip code as the biggest investment of my life when there are so many other choices?"

Hey jfk, all you wannabe LV folks say the same thing...Las Vegas wouldn't be here without the tourists, you wouldn't be here without the tourists, you're not allowed to complain, yadda yadda yadda

Now, in my opinion ......if the tourists were confined to just the Strip corridor and downtown, then I wouldn't complain about them.

And recession (if there is one) won't do anything to Las Vegas, people will get themselves more in debt just to come here, to forget their troubles and smoke, drink and gamble, just like they did in the recession of the 1970's...I seriously doubt any recession will prove to be the end of Las Vegas. But keep thinking that if it secretly makes you happy...

True...but the 9/11 downturn was due to the travel terrorism scare. We're talking a money scare for recession. And never in history has there been this huge of a corporate LV to support during an economic bust such as this one. I believe someone posted that tourism was down in November. I wonder what January did.

Jeez, I deleted my spiel about 9/11 from my post, but yeah, tourists were afraid to fly, to be in tall buildings, to be in a "hot spot" so to speak, so there was a slow down during that time.

Oh, there were tourists here, but definately not at full capacity like we are used to.

Remember, people are always going to want to escape their troubles, whether they have the means to do it or not. It's that plastic card that enables them to do so.
