And I thought cd's were outdated. Records were before even my time and I am 38 years old.

Keep thinking that way. In fact, if you come across a giant stack of LPs, recommend they be donated to Goodwill.

"Oh those things aren't worth any money. Just donate them."

Muchas gracias.

Nice orchids, too. My wife grows them as well.

I'd build a supremely heavy table for the Pro-Ject. (It's a Pro-Ject, right? I'm still using the 1200 that I bought when I was nine years old.) Looks like you'd get quite a bit of vibration from that table.

Here's my setup -- I changed the table, the current table is moved only with a lift.

It's a VPI Classic, not sure which version. When I was a kid I lusted after Oracle, VPI, and Pink Triangle turntables. Oh yeah, SOTA was another brand around then. This high-end shop I used to go to had a VPI turntable, with Souther Linear tonearm, and a Dynavector Ruby cartridge. It was amazing, played back through Conrad-Johnson tube electronics. All I could afford as a teenager was an AR turntable.

I thought it was a PJ Signature 10. But I was looking mostly at the arm assembly. That's some heft, there.

This clearaudio Statement is a bargain at only $125,000, compared to the $300k Goldmund Reference. Actually, I remember someone telling me, if your equipment costs more than your record collection, you're not really a music lover.

I have my record collection from the 70s and 80s some of them import that I bought while stationed overseas.
I also have 70s era turntables and receivers along with speakers from the 60s 70s timeframe.

I really don't listen to the records that much anymore. I have become spoiled with being able to load thousands of songs onto memory sticks that play for hours. I had to buy an Oppo unit that would interface with a 70s receiver to do this.

So now when I play records I hate having it finish so soon and having to go turn it over. Yes talk about laziness!!!!

I thought records would have a lot more value these days but it hasn't happened. Now they are even starting to press vinyl more and more again.
