I'm about to head to 11th Street Records to sell off my duplicates (mostly classic rock). I'm doing this JUST to make room. Because I'd need to buy a bigger house to expand my record storage space. I have a couple hundred duplicates. I'll let people here get first crack at them if there's any interest.

Still have all my LP's, combined with my wife's collection, it's good sized. I'll probably get rid of them in the next move.

If they're not scratched, and if they're not "Paul Anka hums Burt Bachrach with 1,001 Strings," they're probably worth money. The problem is selling them. People like me don't want entire collections because we already have one. The people who DO want entire collections offer pennies on the dollar. Selling individually isn't worth the hassle.

Nailed it.

I'll probably give mine to a family member rather than go through the hassle of trying to make deals.

I sell albums on eBay for clients, but they need to be worth $50 each or, as was said, it's not worth the time. Try Zia Records, also, if 11th St. doesn't work out.

11th pays more for quality. The local record store dudes call me "Mr. Picky." (Big surprise, there.) Everything I own is mint. (The vinyl, at least. I don't care if the jackets aren't mint because I don't listen to the jackets.) I get most of my vinyl at thrifts. Well, I GOT most of my vinyl at thrifts. That has basically dried up, now that people have learned vinyl made a comeback.

For several years, it was the happy hunting grounds. I routinely picked up $50-$100 albums for a buck. And it was a rare day when I didn't come home with a dozen $10-50 albums. Those days are long gone, though.

That IS an expensive hobby. Hard to find reggae that hasn't been trashed. Kind of like my punk collection.

I have a copy of "Reggae Inna California" from some local SoCal band. Want it?

A friend of mine, that used to live here, spent a lot of time in the record stores looking for old punk and country albums.
