Coming from NYC where this can be a full contact sport, I can say this. You don't own your view. If whatever view you have goes over someone else's property, there's always a danger it will get blocked. Here you can have a nice skyline view, and someone puts up a thirty story building next door, and you're screwed.

Also, I suspect in this case, it' not completely blocked. I'm guessing the building's in question being not right next to you, but a fair way's distant, and while their in your view, you still get plenty of mountain view.
