A clue... anyone got one I could have?

Unfortunately, it looks like you're hosed. As I'm sure you did, I just checked the most recent state reciprocity list and TX isn't on it. Oddly enough, I found an earlier reciprocity list and at one time TX was on it. If it helps at all, NV is an open carry state. If that's the way you go make sure you don't run afoul of any county or local laws.

Are you "white"? If so, the answer is "yes" to everything.

You can keep it in the glove box, on the seat, under the seat, or strapped to your side as long as it's not hidden. I've just never been sure you can carry a weapon inside a casino, or any businesses that don't allow them, or if they can make their own rules about a legally licensed activity such as carrying a gun. Kind of why I haven't bothered to get one ...that and I can't afford the gun I'd want to carry. Besides they pull my pants down.

They had a breaking news story yesterday about all the cops in Henderson converging on St. Rose because some "may have" seen a man with a gun. Turns out if was a doctor that didn't want to leave his hunting rifle in the car. Nobody was arrested so that's good. He's lucky the cops didn't shoot him because they could.

YOu can carry in the casinos. Unless all or part is posted it is legal. Normal practice is to use a metal detector and provide a checking service for events where guns are banned.

Legally you can carry openly in a casino but I would not waste my time. The house will immediately ask you to check the weapon or leave.

And you can't carry in government buildings, so that leaves???

...I don't know ...let me see???? OUTSIDE!

So why bother? Just strap on a hog-leg and walk down the street.

Remember Henry? He used to dress like a cowboy and show up all over town at every event ...with a gun. Henry had developmental issues. Wonder what happened to ole Henry.

Buzz, the point is that in most places, you can carry a ccw. You can carry in your bank, you can carry in your grocery store, you can carry in your cell phone store, you can carry in Wal-Mart! Businesses are private property and anyone can ask you not to carry on their private property. You can carry concealled all over town, something you can't do with a "legally" displayed open carry.

As for doublenickels, troll somewhere else.

It's not a "matter of time" until a state court allows tight regulation. That has already existed for decades. The recent SC ruling has established a constitutional basis to challenge govt. restrictions on gun ownership, which is exactly what is happening. The same attorney who overturned the D.C. gun ban has now brought a landmark lawsuit against Chicago. The ability for a state or local govt. to infringe on rights established by the Second Amendment is going to be tested.

It would appear likely that a future court may well hold this goes as far as such things as banning hand guns or restricting the arms to a single shotgun.
The Supreme Court has ruled on the Chicago case I referred to above. Citing the same basic rights upheld in their D.C. vs. Heller decision, the SC has found that an outright handgun ban falls outside the boundaries of reasonable regulation. The Chicago handgun ban has been struck down. Kapow! (no pun intended)
