Litter box training. It's the best thing we did for our dog. No weather issues and the dog never has to wait for you to let them out. Dogs surprisingly learn to do it very quickly with some positive reinforcement.

Yep, we have 2 chihuahuas.. used to be litter box trained.. Now they are pad trained. Although they do love running around in the backyard.. I don't think they know they can pee out there!

I refuse to pad or litter train my dogs. Dogs are supposed to potty outside. I will not encourage anything else, even at 20 below.

Thankfully their days of pooping in the snow are behind them

Meh, to each their own. I prefer to keep them indoors due to the weather. And it's easier for us to keep up after them. It's like inside vs. outside cats, except cats are larger than our dogs.
