My wife and I are recreational gamblers. Not big money, but a few hundred a week spread out over a few casinos. I'm also a coupon junkie and receive the offers for free play/food/gifts, etc. Any other recreational gamblers care to share some of the better casinos for comps? Here's what I noticed:

M Resort - Best gifts & FSP - I have a well-stocked wine cabinet and liquor cabinet from them. A bottle of wine every week (2 bottles of liquor as well last month), and about $300/mo in FSP ($25 every few days). They also offer a BOGO for the buffet (stellar buffet, btw) every week.

Silverton - Best food comps - $10-$20 free dining per week. Mi Casa is a decent cheap mexican place, and the cafe isn't shabby for an <$10 per person place. They have "swipe and win" fairly often, but normally in the $5-$10 FSP range

Stations - Swipe and win promos every week, but haven't received anything more than $10 FSP. They do send about $100/mo in free and match play coupons. We normally eat at the GVR buffet once a week for 50% off with their coupons.

Primm - This little town seems to LOVE us. 3 free night offers with free concert tix, free food and normally $50-$100/mo in free play/dining a month. We normally just go down once a month, and haven't stayed.

Golden Gate - $100/mo in play-til-you-lose chips, and $25/mo in dining (love Du-Par's, which is their only restaurant)

Most of the other places on Fremont send small FSP offers, but nothing to justify the trip. If I'm already down there I'll walk around and see what I have for free, but I don't make a special trip for it.

Boyd's Gaming - Normally <$50/mo in slot play/dining..

So far the Strip hasn't really offered much, but then again, we don't play there much.

Are there any casinos who offer good comps on free play/dining? The Station casinos are our "go to" place based on the proximity to our home, but we're looking for other options. I know our comps would be higher there if we didn't spread the money around, but just looking for other people's impressions of THEIR favorite places.

And to clarify, we gamble as a hobby, something we both enjoy, and use only the money we expect to lose, are not in financial trouble, and know our money should be invested instead of spent at the casinos (pre-emptive strike in response to the anti-gambling comments I'm sure will come)

Sounds like your recreational budget is substantial to be getting that many offers. Good for you. In addition to your list, I've received good offers from Rampart. You may also want to check out Anthony Curtis' Las Vegas Advisor - Las Vegas Coupons Hotels News and Shows and consider becoming a member. You will gain access to a forum that has a comps subarea. Since you are a coupon junkie, the coupon book you receive from them is one of the best around and will cover your membership with one use.

I don't think we run $1000 through the tables and slots in a month at all casinos combined, so we were surprised they are as generous as they are. I used to know the comp calculation formula, but I've forgotten. And fortunately we haven't lost any money since we've been here, but I'm sure we will I will check out Anthony Curtis' site, sounds like a good one! Thanks!!

We limit ourselves to $250 each once a month in Caesars properties. For this we receive free rooms and drinks. and meals partially comp'd. Both of us are platinum status.

Hmmm.. rooms I would never use, and drinks are always free everywhere. Regarding meals, are they BOGO? Do you get any slot or table play?

Its better to entice the casino with some play so they can calculate a theoretical daily value on your patronage. Then cut them off to get marketing to send you an increased value promotion to get that play back. You will get a better deal if your only looking for room, food and shopping comps over cash back or promo play. The casino would rather not bankroll you unless its necessary to keep you around and that's why you get a lower % on promo play for every dollar spent and wagered.

Are you getting back your $1000 in comps? Likely not. It's generally never worthwhile playing for comps.

If you're going to be in the casinos, you'd better better off learning to play winning live poker, advantage play sports betting, perfect VP basic strategy (and how to find machines with 100%+ pay tables), table game advantage plays etc., then just flushing the money away in unbeatable house banked games, machine or live. Either that, or just don't gamble.

Not everybody enjoys the grind of being an advantage player. Some people enjoy the challenge and work that comes with it and some people look for the big lucky payouts while having fun and earning comps much faster than advantage players.

Some other casinos that give you regular monthly slot play in addition to the above are: Riviera, Ellis Island. Plus they both have good food promos and free gifts to earn.
My husband and I went out to every single casino some years back and got cards at all of them, along with freebies for signing up for the slot cards. We ended up with quite a haul. Plus a whole bunch of slot play all over the place. There is a thread about it in here somewhere. Although I did not fully finish the thread, I think there is enough info there that may still be relevant.
