Turns out the safest place to be is somewhere atop Mt. Charleston.

Oh, I need to say something about airports to stay on topic. Flying is fun but the TSA spoils it for everyone.
YOu appear to have a true genius for finding bad statistics.

That particular site uses metro police statistics with the city of las vegas population. So their numbers are high by a factor of about 3 times. Metro population is something like 1.4 million. Note as well it has the transient tourist population which likely adds another 250,000 who are not counted.

You're a little low on the numbers I think. The county population reached 2 million about four or five years ago, with nearly all of it in the Las Vegas Metro area. Some may have left to look for work, but probably not many. And the tourist number is well over 3 million per month.

It is the County minus NLV and Henderson which defines metro population.

The tourist population is the daily pop.

I once lived next to a barking dog and I think given the choice I would take the planes.

OK, then where are the GOOD statistics? This is what I'm attempting to find. But you were a bit vague on where it can be located.

The site I mentioned has proved very useful to me. No one else is required to use it.

I once lived next to a mockingbird guarding its nest. I think I might take planes over that.

I lived in Denver when Stapleton was operating. A great, close in airport that was very convenient to downtown. Denver International Airport opened and it is so far from Downtown. Once you reach the far out airport property, it's still 21 miles until you reach the actual terminal. Las Vegas is lucky to have a great, closel airport.

Oh. I would consider the other two cities as part of the metro area wouldn't you?

I get about 104,000 a day. 38,000,000 ÷ 365 but my calculator doesn't like high numbers. Still a lot of people, which would fluctuate on weekends. I wonder if these polls take all those tourists into consideration.

The metro involved is for crime and is the Metropolitan Police Dept which does not cover nor report for Henderson or NLV.

Tourist stay an average of 2.5 days or so. So multiply your daily total by 2.5.
