I've seen people say that banning cookies on your PC will work to allow one to view such sites, but I've never tried it.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll try clearing cookies and see what happens.

I have been living in Las Vegas for awhile. I moved from California.

There are negatives and positives.

Positives include many entertainment and food options with world class options on the strip. Right now with Covid things are calm and quiet. No clubs, events, or many restaurants are open. There are restrictions like masks and occupancy in the restaurants that are open.

The cost of living is cheaper than other places but is going up every year. Before Covid it was a great place to move if you wanted a service job in a casino, hotel, bar, or restaurant. Now however Covid has shown that the city/Nevada in general relies too heavily on tourism. There is not a diverse economy.

If you are an educated professional moving to Las Vegas you will be in the minority as most people here have no degrees. Many are high school drop outs. Perfect for Vegas when times are good but terrible when times are bad like now. There is a disdain for education here. People actively look their nose down on education. Nevada has a terrible education system. One of the worst in the country. I was lucky enough to grow up and go through school in a different state so I did not have to attend these low performing schools.

There is no professional dating scene. As said most are service industry that work multiple jobs and/or odd hours. I noticed people who were born and raised here have a very small town mentality. They haven't really left Vegas and think it is the best place ever. Very narrow minded.

The weather is over 100 degrees from May through September. It only starts cooling down in October closer to Halloween and then it gets cold like jacket weather cold.

There are outdoor activities like Redrock and Mount Charleston but compared to other nearby states they aren't that great.

There really is no city here. Its sprawling bland suburbia and much of it borders on ghetto or trashy.

I don't see my career going far here and only moved here to get experience. I plan on moving soon but Covid slowed that down.

So you would say the education attainment of the population here is less than say Boston, NYC, Seattle, SF, Austin, etc?

Somewhat misleading. In fact about 85% of the working age population graduated high school and 25% have a college degree. I do not see it as a great place to have a tech career but it is otherwise fine. And I would also note that the biggest population segment came to Clark County from CA. Among the old the place is pretty well educated.

I agree with longviewJoe, to bad for those that can’t enjoy what’s here. It’s a great city and there’s plenty for someone your age to explore, take your time, settle in and great things will come your way especially now the masks are going away and the city is opening back up.

We wish you the best and success on your soon to be new surroundings !

I’m not sure what type of activities your into but search for them with Las Vegas in the header and you should find plenty.
