The newest, nicest neighborhoods tend to be south of the 215 and west of 515.

Here are some links that you may find helpful about Henderson.
Henderson http://www.cityofhenderson.com/index.php

Henderson Police Dept http://www.cityofhenderson.com/police/php/policebody.php

Also if your going to purchase in Henderson, ask if they have LID's some call the SID's these are improvements made to the land when the property was being built and it's passed on to the current home owner and is paid
annually.
They can range in price depending on the property some from $9000.00 for 10 years or more. It's just something you need to know and ask what the HOA's are Home owner association monthly fees are these are paid to keep the common area's up.

You will like it there

Hi I am new and I am looking to move to Henderson NV. I am concerned about flood zones. I live in Chicago near Midway airport. I have been here for 23 years never flooded. They shut the flood gates and I lost almost everything. I am still cleaning since Aug. 22nd. I want to make sure I don't go through this again. Can you please assist me? Thank you

Read the welcome thread. Then ask specifics. It is impossible to fully guarantee it won't flood anywhere. But the odds are very slim up elevation on a hill. Lots of hills in Henderson. You might also simply get flood insurance for your first five years. Its cheap outside the flood planes.

MOVING (or considering moving) TO THE VEGAS VALLEY??? START HERE!
