My girlfriend and I are looking into an apartment complex near Sierra Vista and Swenson. It's called the Villas at Desert Pointe. The apartment complex seems very clean and well kept, its gated and has covered parking. The rent is very reasonable and the 1 bedroom is 900 sq feet We're looking into a studio is $420 a month, the 1 bedroom is $450

I know Sierra Vista Drive is a bad area, I know Metro has a substation there. Is Sierra Vista really that much a crime infested rathole? The apartment complex seems like a nice place stuck in the middle of slums to me

What do you guys think?

Might as well take advantage of that price. Just keep some pepper spray on you.

Speaking of pepper spray....

If you move in, bring lots of peanut butter to feed the million or so roaches that come free with the place.

I wouldn't live in that area, but each to their own.

It is not on DuMont Street. Its on Sierra Vista and Swenson. The apartment complex has security at night and the apartment complex was renovated two years ago.

Me and my girl got the apartment today. $49 to move in, we move in September 3rd, all we have to take care of now is calling NV Energy and Cox. We'll be all set

Also found out there is a nearby Metro substation. That makes me feel a little better

Over 20 years ago it was a nice place, my mother used to reside on 589 Sierra Vista Dr. Mostly seniors back then but now it has changed. The Police Sub-station helped clean the place a bit but if you decide to move there, definitely be careful and just pretty much watch out whatever you're doing and goodluck with your move.

Good luck on your new apt Davie. You will need it. I guess since you are young and can run fast, it can work for you.
