I'm sure once you get to know the neighbors, a few of them probably provide "security" as well. Driving around that area, there are a lot of "lookouts" and things of that nature.

I really think you'll be alright.

Las Vegas is really very complicated and unusual city. From everyone comment this address (Sierra Vista and Swenson) is bad. But how it is can be bad if its only about 0,5-1 mile south from Las Vegas Hilton , Country club and Convention center (i see it on bing.com map ) and 1 mile east from Wynn golf club ?!?! I really do not understand this...

This area seems much improved since the new substation was opened. It still is an area to be aware but the police presence has really helped. I think it is a great location and will continue improving.
Can be at the strip in 5 minutes.

Thats an awesome price and sounds like a really good location. Who cares if its a bad area, if you keep your head low and dont carry any money on you whats the worst that could happen? I grew up in Minneapolis which I realize isnt really the same but there are some bad areas there too but I never really felt that uncomfortable in any of them as long as you have some street smarts you should be fine. I think Im gunna look into those too. Good Luck

You think thats confussing, check out the neiborhood behind the Stratosphere or Circus Circus. They are less than 200 feet.

But overall these "bad" neighborhoods are not Compton/Harlem/gangland bad, just Vegas bad. Anything compared to MGM, Wynn, Mandaly Bay etc will be considered sub par.

You would think that a street full of 5 star mega businesses would at least have some 4 star business on the street next to it. Then possibly 3 star afterwards and the gradually decline from there.

But no!

Its a dramatic change once you leave the strip.

Rent a movie called 'The Slums of Beverly Hills'. You'll see that any nice neigborhood...including one of the swankiest....has its seedy sides.
