I grew up in Las Vegas and lived there as an adult. I recently left for family reasons but will be coming back in about a year or less. I think you have to think positively about moving. Of course you are going to have to take some time to hustle and get situated that's if you're 18 or 58. That's just how it is. Vegas is a great town for people trying to make it. As a 20 yr old I worked at MoneyTree making $10/hr and that was basically a check cashing place. Then at 23 I worked at a call center CreditOne Bank and they paid $11/hr. It was great. It's all about getting out there and making a life for yourself! Good luck!

4 letters you need to think about:

UNLV.

You can experience Las Vegas from an indepent point of view with a safety belt of a student life/ student benefits. You will also be working on a future.

I believe it is one year. I had such a difficult time getting in-state rate for unlv; I was just taking one summer course there, and I had lived there for well over a year (if not 2 years). I can't remember the details, but I had to show them so much paperwork--like electric bills, leasing documents, bank statements, paycheck stubs, and so many other things. At first I was rejected because they couldn't read the signature on my driver's license! I resubmitted that piece of information, wrote them a letter about my situation, and I finally was accepted as in state. You can't be going to school (obviously not unlv, but any other school either, like a community college) there during that first year either; I think you also have to be working (maybe even full time, I don't remember). All I remember is there was so much stuff I had to get together; it was really a lot of work.
