I am moving from CO to MO so will be taking I-70 through Kansas next week. Could anyone recommend a hotel or motel somewhere around Junction City? Can't be too expensive as I am on social security. But want something clean and that is somewhere safe.

There should be plenty of motels in Junction City. Fort Riley Military Base is near by and maybe that produces the need for plenty motels rooms. There should be at least 10 or more in the city. I would make a reservation or call ahead some times when people are shipping in or out the motels fill up. Motel 6 is always a good bet for price, 785 762 2215

Cheaper motels are probably the Econo Lodge in Junction City, and the Knights Inn in Junction City. Both would be in the $50/night range. You can more easily access I-70 from the Econo Lodge.

You might get better information in the Kansas forum.

Tripadvisor.com is also a good resource for this sort of thing.
